I would say that you are as full of it as you have ever been, and I DON'T mean "full of the Holy Spirit."

Find my article that lists several references on the structural issues of the human brains of homosexuals. There is SCIENTIFIC HARD FACT to back up the thinking that in some cases, a person's brain IS IN FACT in a body with the secondary sex characteristics opposite to the brain's structure. These people WERE born into the wrong body. They ARE homosexual and were BORN that way, NOT seduced by some wild thoughts. They RECOGNIZE that their preferences are not like everyone else's. They DID NOT start as heterosexuals and decide to convert. There is a MASSIVE difference between conversion and realization. NO repeat NO conscious decisions made as an adult will change physiological brain structure that has been that way since birth.

If you can't accept that, then YOU are the one who is blinded by narrow religious viewpoints; blinded to the point of stupidity. Go read the articles I posted on the subject, or just web-search for "Homosexual + brain scan" and start reading. Then contemplate that according to religion, you are born the way God intended. Well, OBVIOUSLY, God wanted these people to be gay. When you can reconcile that science with your deeply ensconced religious views, we can talk.

I passed a warning along earlier in this thread. You have stepped across a line. I love my family without trying to change who they are, and that includes my gay step-daughter who has been essentially disowned by her biological father. I cannot tell you the anger that she has felt because of her stupid, narrow-minded, good-for-nothing father. He was stupid enough to divorce one of the sweetest, kindest, most generous women I have ever met.

I have had many good friends in my life, many who happened to be gay. Happens in a city that tends to be forgiving. My gay friends were generally the least offensive people you would ever meet. Competent, educated, economically capable, and very compassionate to others. But YOU would say that their problems are no more than a side effect of "your brain on drugs."

Well, in that case, YOUR brain is on the drug of religious inflexibility. You are addicted to intolerant thinking. I have no use for that. It's my hot button so I have to discipline myself. In the Watercooler, you can choose to display your ignorance and yet not be banned. Therefore, go right ahead and expose your ignorance to the world. I won't ban you for showing folks your muddled thinking.

A railway train conductor, going about his business, addressed the passengers in the normal expected form:- "good evening ladies and gentlemen" A complaint was made because this didn't include the numerous other gender identification pronouns, I understand there are around 70!

I would like the person who made the complaint to provide British Rail with the wording they think is acceptable. Further, if I were the particular conductor, I would download a list of 70 or so pronouns from the internet and in my subsequent announcements I would say "good evening ladies, gentlemen, them, they, this, that, whatever the f***.

I would continue until I reached the end of the list, holding up the train, the Passengers until somebody with a brain and some common sense shook some sense into the stupid idiot that complained until their teeth rattled!

EVERYTHING is touchy you super-nice person! that's what stupidity the human race has gotten itself into! and yes, I called you super-nice person for a reason - because you don't seem to take offense and we have a history. I would not do that to anyone else here. no idea who is who. no way to tell.

this is the same as "everybody takes to offense to everything". if you think the world can continue to satisfy everyone, you've obviously got another thing coming. they tried it for a while and it didn't work. it WON'T work. it can't. if it's getting this bad now, I would say just fight the damn war and get it over with like they have always done in the past.

i wouldn't expect any of this coming from uncle specifically. that sounds like a good old capitalist who has busted his ass to make something of himself in this world, and takes offense to stupidity and nonsense that hinders what he worked so hard for. Kind of like the notion that @The_Doc_Man falls under, along with many other things. Like @NauticalGent too. nothing wrong with that. why should I say there be? but it goes to show you how lazy people REALLY are in terms of their lack of ability to relate to others. they get stuck in their own damn thinking and therefore "this is right and that is wrong". I realize too, that some people will come back to me and tell me that I'm blowing my own horn once again. But this is the primary thing of what's wrong with this world, is it not? People are just too stupid, lazy, and many other things to have an open brain and care about others. no?

and no richard, I didn't say anything about religion, so leave it out of this. You won't like my response if you bring it back into this, when I said nothing about it this time.

I gave warning about what was touchy in a previous post in this thread. You crossed a line by downplaying the legitimacy of my step-daughter's situation, comparing it to "your brain on drugs." Weasel your way around it all you want. There is a distinction between someone declaring for a religion vs. someone declaring a gender preference.

You can change religions (DAILY if you wish) based on a change of understanding. You can choose to join an inclusive religion or you can choose to join an exclusionary religion. (The latter is easier based on relative availability of each type.) You can even choose to step away from religion entirely, as I did. But if your cerebral physiology is fixed and your brain says you are attracted to what would appear to be the same gender as yourself, you cannot so easily change that. That is NOT your brain on drugs. That is your brain facing a stark reality that instantly sets you aside from others around you in a way that you cannot escape.

I personally know of several people who are gay and who seriously contemplated suicide at different times in their lives because of the bitterness and stigma imposed by inflexible religions and their family members who adhered to that exclusionary style of thinking. I have no use for it. And if you persist in that viewpoint, I have no use for you. But I promised I would not be the one to ban you, so perhaps I'll just ignore you. I have left all of the conversations you started for a reason. Take a hint.

Adam, you say I don't take offense. You are quite wrong. I usually try to not SHOW that I am offended, but in this case you touched that exposed nerve - my family.

I said nothing about your step-daughter. I must have forgotten about you saying something about it so long ago. but yes, i do remember you mentioning her. I would never say anything bad about her. my statements were in a broad sense. it didn't target any one person. speaking of targeting, I'm crazy disappointed that the word g.o.o.f.b.a.l.l. is censored by Jon's software. that's pretty ridiculous, don't you think? but, off of that horse and on to the next...

i don't deny that people feel that way. and that is perfectly fine. i'm not going to condemn them. it's not my job to figure that out. I have nothing against science either. science is absolutely necessary. I'm just saying, like I've said before, that as people keep knowing more and more, more and more changes like this will happen. you can't change it. it is inevitable. and I'm sure your step-daughter is no different. I don't personally care either way, and I wish her the best in whatever she does regardless of what that is, but it doesn't mean that I think it's normal. and I won't take the "victim" stance either. but in a way, I sort of feel like those people are victims. don't ya think? if not based on the religious nature of them not being appreciated, then based on other things in society?

that's just the way humans are, no? by the way, what do you have against religion and the fact that they didn't welcome her into the circle? the bible clearly states that that kind of behavior is not acceptable, so what do you expect them to do? if they are true to their beliefs, then they obviously have done the right thing. no?

In your "Disobedience" thread, you have my answer. IF the person being exclusionary is wrong in why they are performing the exclusion, then their beliefs are wrong and they HAVE done the wrong thing. This is the inherent flaw with old religions.

In science, when you get new information, you can change your viewpoint based on a new understanding. In religion, new information from a mundane source doesn't matter. You are still stuck in the dark ages. And the new prophets who claim modern revelations are totally disgraced by the old-line religions.

that's also why people are bored to death with religion. mass is boring. church service is boring. LIFE is boring. did you YOURSELF not say that weeks ago to me!? I believe the words were something like this:
if you live forever, who would want that? that would get incredibly boring just like this life.

I'll add that this life is boring because you are a monotonous voice who doesn't get the message. I believe you are cherry-picking, too. The quote included a comment about sitting in Heaven forever at the side of God but with nothing to do other than worship His glory. If that's all that I have in store, that would indeed be boring.
