My Mouse (wired) is 7 years old and it has 10 buttons. Yours?

Because I had to replace my old computer this year and the new one came with a new mouse, I have a mouse with age about 3 months. I counted six buttons on this one.

Wow. My mouse is about 5+ years old and has 3 buttons - right click, left click, and roller ball. What in the world is everyone else's buttons for?

My keyboard is loud and clackety but I love it - a real traditional Kensington with all the buttons in the right spaces!

My mouse is Logitech which I had for a couple (exact number not known) of years before I retired 2008. And still going strong!

The thread reminded me of the arguments over serial or PS2 mice and cleaning the ball on mechanical mice before laser mice.

Bought my HP mouse on Amazon it's a 3 button wireless. I've replaced my wife's and sister in-law's with the same HP mouse they work as expected.

At present I'm using two MiniPCs and a RaspberryPi4 with each connected to a single 27" screen via a smart HDMI switch.
Keyboard and mouse are wireless and pretty low cost by Logitech, so the vowels, plus R and T soon wear off meaning one
or two replacements a year. To switch from one PC to another I just swap the dongle.
So my mice have the lifespan of the lettering on the keys before they also end up in the bin.

Interesting as the descriptions of mice are I'm just as interested in keyboards. I actually use a German QWERTZ keyboard though I seldom type much in German these days. What I like is the flexibility of easy access to various accents in most European languages, especially it is much better for French than the AZERTY Keyboard). The only drawback to me as Brit is no £ key, but it is easy to redefine a key or just use Alt-0163
