How to add command buttons to a report

What I want to do it when the report is generated and opened in a preivew mode, I want to give the user the options to:Save the report, Print the report or Email the report. How can I add these three buttons to the report?

I don't think you can

you could have buttons on a form so after preview you could send it - or if you are really smart - then upon closing preview have this ask as question do you want to save, email etc - but this is one I cannot help on .

I don't think you can either. I'd create a custom toolbar that comes up with the report with the functions you want on it.

It's not that tricky. I've got a couple of apps where users can export or email reports. I create a public function, called from the toolbar button. Another MVP wrote a tutorial on toolbars that unfortunately is too big to post here. It's posted on Bill Mosca's Yahoo site:

I think you can simply put these Buttoms on the Reports Page Footer.

If that works make sure Display When is set to Screen Only.

In what version? If you're suggesting anything previous to 2007, which I have no experience with, I'd love to see an example of a working button on a report.

Since Access 97 I have an invoice that uses the Page Footer to fit the stationery being used. I wanted to Hide the Page Footer until the Report Footer is formatted. I thought I read somewhere that the reason the whole Section, the Page Footer, could not be hidden was that you can put Command Buttons in this Section.

As I had already put in my Reporting a Dialogue Form on the On Close event although On Open and On Page events are other Options, I never looked at the use Command Buttons any further.

Apparently you can't so I'm still left with the question why can't you hide the Page Footer if that is what?

You can hide the page footer (in A2k at least). It may need to be done in the format event of that section.
