The danger of AI is that it is eloquent and always 100% certain of its answer even when the answer is a hallucination. A human has no chance unless the human is a subject matter expert and can see that the answer is made up. Frankly it terrifies me. The current versions are slightly less biased than they were originally but all they know is what they have seen before. They are very fast and very good at a small group of things. They will be a real boon to the medical field due to their ability to make arcane connections between various symptoms. Doctors, just don't have the depth of knowledge to take three seemingly unrelated symptoms and come up with a potential common cause. There is just too much data to analyze and that is where AI shines.

I HATE the "New Outlook" and I have not been able to get Office to revert to the Old Outlook which I can control, annoying though it is.

I understand there is a way to remove the toggle switch for enabling New Outlook by setting a registry key. I learned about that earlier today.

Unfortunately, I think reverting back once the change has happened is a lot more difficult. That article talks about a PowerShell command to remove New Outlook. Fortunately, I have not had to try it.

There was supposed to be an option to revert once you moved to the New Outlook but it would only last a short time before it considered you as "committed." I solved the problem another way. I have an LTSC kit and have steadfastly refused all offers to switch to New Outlook.

I have a couple hundred kilograms of it under my house so I'm going to sell it tomorrow and retire to live in luxury for the rest of my life.

I never switched. This was a new install. I had NO OPTION of what to install. Time was when you installed Office, you could opt out of certain products. Not any more. It was an all or nothing proposition. It even installed Access but cleverly hid it from me so it never showed up on any menus. I finally had to go to the add/remove programs and uninstall Access. Then I had an option to install it and that time Access showed up on the menus so I could actually use it. Microsoft is determined to destroy Access and force me to use "New" Outlook. If there was a viable replacement for Access, MS would have lost my business long ago.

@Pat Hartman your Outlook doesn't have a toggle new/old on the upper right like this? I've toggled back and forth successfully, definitely preferring the Old outlook though, it's less childish and more menu-driven.

@Isaac and everyone else. As I've said multiple times, this is a NEW install of Office. I was never given the option to install Old Outlook so apparently, there is no need for a toggle and I can't find any suggestion that has worked in this situation.

Pat, was your kit an O365 installation or an LTSC kit? I don't think they sell kits on DVDs any more.

@The_Doc_Man It was a download from my subscription and in addition to forcing New Outlook down my throat, it also proved to me how much MS hates Access.

I don't think the "New Outlook" toggle button has anything to do with whether it's a new install or not. I realize it's a brand new install, they still have something called "new outlook" and "old outlook" with a toggle button - at least they do on mine but we must have different.

I don't even see an option to "go back" once I switch to my calendar. I also don't have any button to force Outlook to fetch mail. Change for the sake of changes just doesn't work for me. Not to mention what it does to all my automation code. That's my current opinion of Microsoft.

I am NOT using Office online. Do you not have a subscription? When you have a subscription you get installs on six devices. When you install, you install from the installation web page, not from a CD.
