Mail Merge with Word (1 Viewer)

After upgrading to Office XP the speed with which our mail merge completes has reduced. It now takes approx 15 seconds to merge a new letter against an instant merge on our older machines.

The database is held on a server as are the form letters and the problem occurs as soon as we have instructed the query to select the appropriate records. The message on the tool bar at this time is 'executing SQL in Microsoft Access'

The original database was written in Access 97

Any help in non tech speak please as I am Access illiterate !!!

I don't think there is really much you can do about that.

The only thing I could suggest is to compact the database.

Tools > Database Utilites > Compact and Repair
