Having spent ages messing with google earth to try to do things, i have now downloaded a trial version of MS Mappoint. (2 month trial)

its a revelation - relatively easy to use, - easier once i get familiar with the object model and vewry powerful.

Shame its not free, but highly recommended for a dabble.

I've used it at work; it is a nice program. On PC's with no internet permissions, I use it to map locations for drivers and dispatchers. It's not too tricky to automate from Access.
