Good day folks,

This is one for the experts I think, I've just been informed that our company is moving to windows 7 and also moving to software that is compatible with windows 7 which means that in a very short space of time I'm gonna lose MS Access 2000 and will be working with MS Acess 2010.

So the big question is how much different is 2010 to 2000 and will I be able to just simply upgrade my current db into this newer version.

Any comments would be most welcome.

Regards

John

No real difference at all, be a little more concerned about moving to 2013 since that doesnt support MDB anymore and some other issues....

2010 I have not seen much issues with, if anything the "famous" ADO vs DAO
And possibly the standard stuff if you use referenced object libraries

Hi Namliam,

Thanks for the response, I do use referenced libraries I'll just have to cross that bridge and see where it leads me.

Thanks once again

Just the usual crap that if you have Excel 2000 referenced it doesnt always migrate to Excel 2010 and keeps trying to use the Excel 2000 reference causing an error....

Simply remove one tick add another, done :)

Hi Namliam,

Yes I do reference Excel 2000 so I'll remember that. I'll be checking a few other references too, just to make sure.

Thanks.

John
