Hi I'm a programmer, I've used SQL for a while but I've never used Access before. Now I have a job using it and some databases that have a layout I'm not I would have gone with. For my hobbies I like playing board games and hanging out with my friends

An implication is that you now have a job where MS Access has already been implemented. You also imply that some databases have a structure that you would not have gone with. If your situation already involves a commitment to MS Access, stick with it. If not, have you looked at other databases?
