Microsoft have updated Notepad in Windows11 and it is now a real pain to use. What was wrong with the way it worked before?
Another example of an improvement that is a retrograde step for no purpose.

No. I've used it a long time. I meant it as Microsoft is trying to copy NP++

I didn't like the update either, but you have options.

What's bothering you?
I really like it.
You don't even need to save the text files. It keeps them for you. Is that wrong?

If you don't like tabs, change it in options.

Its the change! I've used it for so long as a noddy text editor and at my age change never goes down well. I'll use NotePad++ in Windows and Geany on Linux. Which is less than impressive. But none of them are as good as the old QEdit, or QuickEdit of which I still have copies but need a DOS emulator to run it. Too much keyboard, mouse, keyboard with text editors these days.

However, on Notepad I seem to be a majority of one. But never mind.
