Obama calls out ‘obscene inequality’ in news coverage of OceanGate sub tragedy and sinking of migrant ship
Former President Barack Obama recently blasted the media for fixating on the OceanGate Titan sub tragedy while not covering a recent migrant ship sinking nearly as much.

Obama's nonsensical remarks can be deconstructed on several levels, but I will only focus on a few.He began, saying, "Our democracy is not going to be healthy with the levels of inequality that we’ve seen generated from globalization, automation, the decline in unions. Obscene inequality. You think about news of the day. Generally, we’re not talking about news of the day, but right now we have 24 hour coverage – and I understand it – of this submarine, this submersible that tragically right now is lost at the bottom of the sea."
Obscene inequality: Obama is rich, he is enjoying obscene inequality. If Obama wants to address that obscene inequality he could be donating significant portions of his personal wealth to those less fortunate. One commentator already noted that Obama, to construct his presidential library "destroyed" a low income minority neighborhood.
Globalization: Obama promoted globalization. He went before the UN to apologize to the world for the deplorable actions of the US. Now he wants to call it a problem? The Biden administration is re-instituting Obama's globalization strategies. Obama should be demanding that Biden cease and desist.
Unions: There is a place for unions in our economy. However, unions are exclusive clubs that work for the benefit of their members. Nothing wrong with that, but unions promote a restricted work-force, inequity in wages, and can hamper economic growth.Unions are not about diversity, equity, and/or inclusion; the current (highly promoted) fad of the Democratic party.
Climate Change: Obama owns a nice beachfront mansion. If Obama was really concerned about sea-level rise and climate change he wouldn't have bought property there. Until the climate change zealots modify their behavior to live the lifestyle that reflects their claimed beliefs they are liars.
