I have a strange issue here, the POS receipt is coming out OK as a normal receipt, but the printer is not cutting at the end of data. What should we do now, is there something we need to do in access? Could it be the way we have designed the receipt report has some challenges, see attachment below:

there must be some "printer code" that you need to send in order to "cut" the paper.
or you need to "configure" the printer to "auto-cut" after printing.

Do you mean something like:
How do I set my thermal printer to cut paper?

Go to: Windows Start Menu > Control Panel > Devices and Printers.

  1. Right-click on the Star 100 Cutter (TSP 143) and choose Printer Properties.
  2. In the Advanced tab, select Print directly to the printer.
  3. In the Device Settings tab, make sure: FRICTION is set to: 72mm x Receipt. Paper Type is set to: Receipt.
The above does not work as well unless I'm missing it somewhere

For the code I'm lost on that one, maybe try to clarify on this

Just a guess but are you closing the report after printing?

also what does your printer manual say? Some don’t cut but have a serrated edge which the user can tear against - at least that’s my observation when out shopping

Ok

We have taken the printer back to the qualified POS technician to work on it and advise accordingly. Many thanks to all the people who gave me valuable advise.
