I have a linked excel spreadsheet, and the fields are:

office #, Main office #, office name, # of units sold,

The "main office #" can have multiple "office #'s"

I am trying to sum the total for all "# of units sold" based on the "Mail office #"

My problem is if the office name's are not all spelled exactly the same I get duplicate sums for the "Main office #"

Is there a workaround that no matter what the office name is it will sum bu just the "main office#"?

my output is:
Main office #, Office name, sum of # of units sold.

I think you'll have to drop the office name entirely if you want to sum by main office...

You are presumably running a Totals query Grouping on Main Office # and Office name and summing # of units sold.since you can only have one office name to achieve what you want replace the Groupby by First.
