Reformat Date field

My date field currently displays as YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS and I need it to show as MM/DD/YYYY (timestap is optional). I have not been able to find anything surprisingly on the internet that was a fast solution(if there is one). My table has 400k records that will need the format, so was hoping for a query in access to do so, or whatever works.

Where the data originate? By default in Access you would get th eformat you are requesting.
