Setting Date format irrespective of Regional Settings

Did some more research and one way to act proactively is to check the Excel columns that may be suspect ie they may have Text formatting.

I used property .NumberFormat to check the Cell formatting. If for example, not all cells are formatted as Date then the user is notified of the potential problem and asked to enter the Date format ex MDY etc

Otherwise Access behaves well when Excel is properly formatted.

From Access I can change the NumberFormat Property of an Excel cell, say F10

objResultsSheet.Range(F10).numberformat = "m/d/yyyy" FROM say "dd/mm/yyyy"

Do you know what are the repercussions of this change? The way the cell value 14/3/2011 is shown does not seem to change.

Any ideas?
