Snow!

THIS is the place to be correct. no doubt. right richard?

Why start now? What changed? Oh... wait, let's acknowledge that Adam HAS tried to clean up his act. Credit where credit is due. But here? Political correctness is about as welcome as a badger in a cold outhouse. (And those of you who ever played the game will know from where that quote originates.)

Agreed.

One of the most powerful and fascinating introspection & self improvement exercises I perform is when I discipline/force myself to mentally 'receive' from someone who I may have previously partly written off (not really written off, I just mean maybe thought negatively of for some reason) - 99 times out of a 100, I find out they absolutely have something to give me. E.G., Galaxiom and I have had some tense exchanges, where some fairly harsh comments were directed at me or my religion -- Yet, there is obviously a high level of experience, intellect & knowledge that they have to give, so I humble myself to psychologically receive it no matter whether I may have felt a little p**ed off at an earlier time.

These are some of the most effective character-building opportunities we have in life, IMO. Of course, I only do it a small % of the times that I ought, but even making an effort puts one on a more self-honest plane.

Plus, Adam has drastically improved and moved from totally provocative to totally acceptable, and I appreciate that.
I would go as far as saying that probably some of my earliest attitudes and comments toward Adam were wrong - even if nothing had changed.

Ok, philosophy done for the day. Clearly, I need to join a philosophy discussion forum to get it all out. :ROFLMAO:
And before you say mind tavern......I heard about it, got all excited about it, but went and nobody was there! :( Best idea ever, though.

Lived my early childhood in New Orleans. Snowed twice in 10 years. Otherwise, usually had the air conditioner running even through winter.
One of the things I like about the USA is that there is a wide variety of climates.

@Jon the forum owner has a been developing a Chess teaching aid (I think) in JavaScript.

I did argue the case that reform was possible, just sayin'.

My chess teaching aid is not complete, and I am considering pivoting the app into something slightly different.

However, to improve your chess, there are many ways. YouTube videos, lichess tutorials, Chessable etc.

Political correctness is about

I call them "wrong footers" ... Often a woman, able to turn anything you say or do against you in some way.

I think we are now beginning to see "political correctness" for what it is. Something that the righteous tell us we should or shouldn't do, whilst they do just what they want.

Political correctness is often used as a shield to be nasty to other people while giving immunity to the aggressor.

Political correctness can be used by or against companies to show their allegiance to a popular idea. One such company in the US is The Salvation Army. Recently The Salvation Army made it public that they were in favor of critical race theory. By doing so they immediately alienated the very people who are in a position to donate to their charity.

Recently, some Salvation Army donors have withdrawn their support for the organization due to the group's so-called racial 'wokeness' initiative, which included the "Let's Talk About Racism" guide that allegedly incorporated Critical Race Theory ideology, according to Newsweek.

These donor retractions come right before the holiday season, when the group launches its Red Kettle Campaign, best known for having its members stand outside of grocery stores in Christmas-wear, ringing a bell and asking for donations.

In the US It's politically correct to be in favor of CRT, but doing so doesn't come without consequences.

One of those adverse consequences is cultural suicide. White left wing radicals (and even some companies) have endorsed Critical Race Theory (CRT) seemingly unaware that should those concepts actually become a reality, that they will become casualties of CRT. As one narrow example, Black Lives Matter called for a boycott of White owned businesses over Christmas and demanded that people only buy from Black business. While this is a very narrow example, should you be a White person who operates a business any endorsement of BLM by you would be against your self-interest (suicide). At another level, we are supposed working for a society free of racism, yet BLM's policies are racist. Again, as a White person, it would not be in your self-interest to endorse an organization that would treat you with contempt and demote you to being second class citizen. How some people can openly endorse any organization that would make them a pariah demonstrates a demented delusional lack of self-awareness concerning the adverse consequences they would personally suffer should CRT become a reality.

Such as today in New Orleans (northern hemisphere) on Dec. 30th, when it is near 80 degrees and I took my daily 3 mile walk. By the time I was on the last quarter of the walk, sweat was running down my arms. Frickin' December 30th and it is like Springtime.

Wow in December.

I am puzzled by the "Snow" in that it varies in the quantity and movement. It appears to vary, randomly? Or, is it linked to the weather? Maybe it just changes on a whim of the Gods of the forum!

Despite our current climate, given typical New Orleans politics, we are used to snow jobs.
