Hi All

I have Access 2002 and I want to know how i can have the data sheet view and SQL view open at the same time in a Query. This would make it easy for me to learn SQL whilst i populate the data sheet view of the query.

Thanks

Nope, you only get one view of a query at a time. You can put something into design view and switch to SQL view to see what it did, but you can't have it open twice and you wouldn't be able to see it happen as it happened.

Thanks Bob, its just that i bought a Microsoft Book Access 2003, and it says you can do it. But i have only got 2002, so thats probably why i guess.

Also, im a Pro a Excel including VBA programming, so i was wondering which application would you say is more difficult to master Excel or Access? Im asking this question because i want a comparison so to know how long it may take me to master Access. Im a Management Information Analyst working for Lloyds TSB and they want me to role out a database to all of the Group Audit, so im learning how to use Access professionally.

Thanks

If you already know VBA, it won't be long to learn the Access syntax. It is slightly different, but looking at samples will help. I have several on my website (see my signature) and we have many in the Database Samples area on this site.

I would suggest working through these tutorials on FunctionX as it will help you immensely with Access:

There are tutorials here on Access 2003 (which isn't much different from 2002) and there is an Access VBA tutorial as well as many others such as SQL Server, etc.
