Hi All I need help with a form and subform. I have a main form EMPLOYEE RECORDS with employees information, with a Subform, where pay records are entered. Mysubform always shows record 1 of 1, and I cannot scroll back to see previous records. How can I see the previous entries.
Thanks

Is the data entry property of the subform set to Yes?

I'm sure that Paul's guess is correct; the Data Entry Property of the Subform is bound to be set to Yes if the record count always displays as 'record 1 of 1.'

Change this setting from 'Yes' to 'No.' Common sense would dictate that having a Property named Data Entry would have to be set to 'Yes,' in order to enter data, but this is, of course, MS Access! Having Data Entry set to 'Yes,' means that only New Records can be entered; any existing Records cannot be viewed or edited.

Set to 'No,' data entry can still be done! New Records can be added, and existing Records can viewed and edited.

Thanks to you both.
The data entry property is set to NO for both the main and sub forms. When I open the subform, where it is not part of the mail form, it entries show up, all 668. But as soon as I drag it onto the main form, it disappears. Any other suggestions.
Really appreciate it.

Are there Master/Child links?

Yes there are three. NAme, Social Security and Hourly Wage. I can only really do away with the Name is I need to.
Thanks

I don't know if that's appropriate or not, but it's something to investigate. Those exist to keep the subform in sync with the main form. When you open the main form, is there a record displayed that would have subform records matching those 3 fields?

My guess is that the Hourly Wage shouldn't be in there, either, unless employees never get raises. If you record pay on an employee for a year, then the employee gets a raise, which you place on the Main Form, the next time you open the Form up there will only be the one Record in the Subform, because the other Subform Records for that employee will have the old/different pay rate and won't match.

Thanks, I changed that and it works. I will now just have to make changes to my query, which was getting the hourly from the table linked to the subform. Thanks very much.
