Translate & Speak

Hello,

Has anyone managed to fully utilize all the additional text-to-speech voices available in Windows? It seems like a great way to extend the functionality of these projects, but compatibility with certain languages and voices seems to be a common challenge. If anyone has insights or solutions for this, it would be great.

The combination of features like text-to-speech, reverse translation, and character count is truly fascinating.
Yes. Read my article and download my app to see how you can use all the different voices available in Windows. A registry tweak is needed for those not natively available

Colin, have you done any work with speech to text in Access? I have a client with an application that could make data entry easier for them if they could open a form and just read Item numbers, quantities and costs into a subform. The data does not come in any format that can be automatically input.

Hi Pat
Yes I have.
Although its not officially supported, it is possible to use speech to text in Access but its only practical on long text fields.
For more info, see my article

I also demonstrated its use in a video:

Seriously, unless you have blind or nearly blind users, I would give it a miss.
There is one person on utterAccess that loves graphics and audio. :-(
Pretty does not make perfect. :-(
