Promoted?

Stop spamming the forum, we don't need trolls posting threads that mean absolutely nothing.

im not addressin to everone

Dear Scot i am not talking to other people only to a particular member who is sarcastic and cant take challenges

Who is he even talking about?

We don't need attitude like that around here. I wohn't be answering any of his questions

All I'm saying is, you come on here as a juinior member and have the nerve to pick a fight with one of the most productive people on the forum. That's not a great way to get help around here. Hence, you are not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Some advice: don't do a data dump on the forum. Ask one question at a time. Your post was asking waaay too much at one time.

I've been a forum reader and provider for some time and I can tell you that Java and other "Senior members" are invaluable if you play your cards right. This is not the place to burn bridges.

Maybe you should take a deep breath, get a new username and try again using a different approach.

Better luck next time.

re

Senior members DO NOT have the right to boss abt junior members we are humans too. i cant stand sarcasim comments so i told him and im not ashamed to correct wats wrong.

He wasn't bossing you around. He simply said what a lot of people think on here. This forum is used for helping someone not doing the work for them.

Will you pipe down about the statuses...I could care less if my status said "Garbage Man"...

This is not a pissing contest...

Your post was out of the ordinary, your grammar sucks, and your spelling isn't any better. You're full of kaka (look it up).

I'm willing to help you if you're reasonable (which you aren't). I'm willing to answer specific questions (which you have not posted). I'm willing to search and help you find a solution to a specific problem (which you do not have). Otherwise I'm not going to sit here and waste my time with your half a** remarks.

Good luck...getting no where...

"You like apples? How do you like DEM APPLES!"

LOL you know you could change it to that!:D

I am here not to cause offense to anyone. All i want is help. i am stuck particularly where i need to have three options next to the Account number..three options are

1-No Account
2-Single Account
3-Multiple Accounts

When the user selects one option, this is displayed next to account number field. But for single account a box should appear where the user enters the numbers. With multiple numbers, 6 boxes should be appear where user can input information.

Can you please help me on this

Now that's reasonable? See how simple something like this can become...rather than you start rumors in other threads, etc.

Ok...as for your problem.

Is this always the case? A max of 6 accounts for multiple? You have to get the requirements down before we start coding...
do you want seperate records (one to many relationship) rather than adding 6 fields that may not be used per record (normalization)???

To check which value was selected you need a select case stmnt:

Code:
  Select Case(Me.cboAccountType)
      Case "No Account"
             'do something
      Case "Single Account"
             'make the account number visible
             Me.txtAccountNumber.Visible
             Me.txtAccountNumber.SetFocus
      Case "Multiple Accounts"
             'handle six boxes?
      Case Else
             'do nothing
    end select

THANK YOU

I am really thankful. well...

When the user selects the No account option, the text "No Account" should be displayed next to Account Number field.

With single Account, only one box should allow the user to enter the number and that number should be displayed next to account no field.

With multiple accounts, there can be more than one account so preferably i was thinking if we can have a drop down menu or listbox where user can enter accounts and these accounts are listed next to Account numlber field

Thanks :)

Re: THANK YOU

Dont know your specs...or exactly what you are trying to do...
But here is a ROUGH idea. I think you need to normalize what you are talking about.

re

Thank you again for your assistance. :) well with the selection, if user selects the "Multiple Accounts" option, more than one box should appear where he she can type. This information should be reflected back at the table.

You have gone out of your way to help me. I aml really grateful to you

It does do that...look at the subform...when you enter sub record the next subrecord appears. You do NOT want to have 6 text boxes opening and closing because MANY records will NOT need these. Go ahead try it. Select multiple accounts than set the focus on the sub form you can enter n records after that.

re

In the description box can it be updated automatically? also in the subform, when i type in the account number i would not like to have a box next to that.. I am sorry if im impatient but my deadline is this Friday and this system is for Citibank! so please dont think you work for me. i am most grateful sir
