Using Access to download files using FTP

Well I would certainly be testing manually before even thinking of automating it.
Does your winscp work fine manually?

From your first post they appear to be the same as vanilla ftp?

It got as far as "200 PORT command successful.
150 Opening ASCII mode data connection.

It stalls after this. Probably, the OS is stopping this.

Probably a firewall is blocking something. If the "PORT command successful" came out, FTP was running, but stalling after that means the protocol hand-shakes failed. If you wait long enough, they might time out.

Try installing FileZilla as a test. That will make it clear if there is a firewall problem.

I don't think you can integrate FileZilla into an access programme though.
