I've now trialled SPh 'Repair For Access'. Unfortunately, it hasn't worked. After selecting the database, the repair started to run, then abruptly stopped, and the app closed.

The verdict from EA :
The database file is severely truncated (with much of it "filled with non-Access binary data"), and there's nothing that can be salvaged from the remaining portion.
