Hi there!

Hope someone can help me with this - I'm using Access 2002 and when I do a new query and add a table, I often can't get select all the fields by double-clicking on the top of the table - it just doesn't respond at all.

The problem resolves itself if I maximize the window and then restore to normal size again. After that double-clicking selects all the fields in the table as you would expect.

This is so weird - I never used to have it and I've made sure I've installed the latest service pack, but it didn't help.

I know it's not the mouse as I can use the maximize workaround (and I tried a USB mouse instead of my PS2 one, and it didn't help).

Anyone got any ideas? - it's got to be something really daft.....

I experience the same problem...no idea why. I just got use to doing the following:

1. Resize the window a bit.
2. Resize the table window a bit.

After that, it works just fine. I also get that problem on occasion with the Database windows. I just simply select something besides what is selected (Forms when I have tables displayed for example.)

Yeah, I get that too, but I have a different way of resolving. Just go down to your task bar and click on the Database Icon to make the taskbar button unselect and then press it in again. That usually does it for me.

Thanks for the replies - nice to know it's not just me going nuts.

The chap who works next to me NEVER has the problem though, and he opens the same files, has the same version of Access, uses XP Pro same as I do etc etc - in fact our PCs are the same model bought at the same time.

There has to be an answer......

It probably has to do with something in the graphics card driver and whether or not some threshold has been reached. But, as annoying as it is, the quick method I mentioned becomes second nature after awhile and you don't even think hardly much of it.

Graphics card eh? - could be, I remember just getting a basic one as that was all I needed.

Guess I'll just have to live with it.

*** UPDATE - just got the latest graphic driver available - no change.
