I had an appointment with someone and I texted them this morning that I'd be unable to meet with them due to specific circumstances.
They responded with just one 'word': SKOL

What in the world does this mean? Hopefully the context I gave you helps.

Ok, that's also kinda what I was thinking based on my googling. Thanks

I did a GDB:
Skol (written "skål" in Danish, Norwegian, and Swedish and "skál" in Faroese and Icelandic or "skaal" in archaic spellings or transliteration of any of those languages) is the Danish-Norwegian-Swedish-Icelandic-Faroese word for "cheers", a salute, or most accurately a toast, with a raised glass, cup, or 'skål' (meaning a bowl or container for liquids), as to an admired person or group.[citation needed]

Was there not a Skol larger a few years ago? It was sold inferring it was Danish, or Scandinavian larger.
I think brewed in Scotland and as we all know, the Scots have never made a decent beer. They do whiskey and claim it is unique but just about every country now makes the stuff now. Some outselling the Scotch, after all it's not as if it takes any great knowledge, or skill.

From all the Viking series I watched it should mean "cheers" although non of the Vikings had any appointments or text messages.

Skol is also an Access add-in developer.

It is also the last name of a guy I went to school with, but I don't think he's relevant to your text!

I would hazard a guess that the Australian term, "skull", meaning to down a whole drink in one action, came from the same root.
