why do Access developers give away so much for free?

Adam is no longer with us and yet he STILL invites comments and repercussions over his inability to recognize altruism in action.

I'm not a moderator or admin, but I think this thread ought to be closed so we can move on in the post-Adam era.

Just to add, I agree with the very positive comments made by Surrey Nick.
Many of us give away a lot of code both as payback for help we've received in the past and to encourage other users to explore the possibilities of Access

I do also sell some software and in certain cases, clients have made purchases as a follow up to free applications of mine they had previously downloaded. Occasionally I get very generous donations to my website in gratitude for free applications or code samples. That's great but its a bonus rather than an expectation.

If anyone wishes to carry on this conversation, please do start a new thread
