I'm using a form with two date fields (start date & finish date) to open a report in Access 2003 SP3. I wish to set the start date with a default of 1 January 2000 and the finish at the current date. I've done this heaps of times and it always works until today when I set the start field's default & viewed the form in form view the date always says a date in 1889!:( Is this an old lurking Y2k problem? If this is an access problem is there a patch or even a workaround for it?

Try entering your date in the international format "2009/01/01" and see if that fixes it.

Thanks for the quick reply, but unfortunately your suggestion still gives an incorrect date, only now in 1905. I was thinking about trying to use the start of the current century as a default if I can figure how to do that, any ideas there?

Try delimiting the date with #2009/01/01#
