Why call it a "steer"?

Surely it is either a cow or a bull.

What is the difference between a cow and a steer?

Col

No, there are cows, bulls, and steers. Steers are bulls that have been castrated.

And still, not a single British person has tried to name that steer.

The best beef is still true Japanese kobe beef. I've never had a steak like it.

I think I've seen that steer elsewhere - perhaps in a Chick-Fil-A commercial, holding up a sign that reads "Eat mor chikn"

But then, no-one ever said that steers could spell, and it's hard to paint signs properly when you have no opposable thumbs. (with apologies to fans of Gary Larson from Playboy.)

That particaular Longhorn, lives next door to my syster.

I've not had the opportunity to try Kobe beef but for pure flavour I don't think ou can beat prime Aberdeen Angus steaks

Americans love our Angus beef (I know it’s Scottish).
I have Kobe beef and its upscale version Wagyu at the local Sushi bar regularly.
I think it’s a lot like Cuban cigars (which I smoke when I can get).
More than a little of the enjoyment, is the nature of the marketing.

True Kobe comes from a form of Wagyu cattle. The kobe beef they sell here in the US is not even true Kobe beef in most instances. We screw up the true definition of Kobe.

Real Kobe beats the heck out of Angus any day IMO.

I think it depends on how your going to cook it. The Sushi bar I go to is a fairly upscale one. Operated by belive it or not Koreans.

It's the version that gets the massage and all that. Plenty of marblized fat.

But it would not be as good as Angus cooked on the grill. Just like a Cuban cigar is not any better than a Padron Aniversary.

Until you have it in Japan... incredible... :D

That's illegal in the US surely, you should be charged with criminal activities:mad:
