My real name in Marcia and I live in the New York area of the United States. I began programming in 1972 with mainframes, punched cards, etc. and didn't meet the world of PCs until the late 80s.
I have been using Access since the 90s beginning with Access 2, through 97,2000,2003,2007 and 2010. I graduated to that from FilePro. I develop applications without ever having learned VBA but I used to be able to modify generated code to make programs do what I want them to do usually. I am beginning to get the hang of embedded macros but at the age of 81, the brain isn't as agile as it once was.
I have a client for whom backing up the back-end database my way would be too complex so I was hoping to automate the procedure with a small batch file (DOS term) or some other database routine and Googled to find if such a thing already existed and came upon this website. Glad to be here.
