I have access 2007 installed on my computer. I have not installed any new software recently. When opening a different database in Access the Open dialog box flickers violently, it does the same if trying to save with a new Name. Thank you for your response.

Run a full scan with your antivirus.

I've run full system scan with Norton 365. I've also tried office diagnostic repair. I've also run sf/scannow and chkdisk. I was getting this in all office products word, excel, etc. After running the above it remain only in access.

Just a thought, but could it be that you need to install service pack 3 for Access 2007.

After trying just about everything. I found that the properties of msaccess.exe had changed under compatibility to Windows XP Version. Switched to Windows 7 Version all symptoms disappeared.

I have windows XP on my desktop also. My Laptop is windows 8. All I know is that it fixed my problem. Before changing compatibility to window 7, I could not save any database with a new name. The Text box where you typed in the database new name flickered so violent that I could only type one character for the new name.
