The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 2 Apr 2025 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
I hope you will join us on Wed 2 Apr for this session. For local start times, please check https://www.worldtimebuddy.com
Note that the UK, Europe and North America will all have changed to daylight savings times so relative start times will be unchanged.
This session is based on a presentation given by Anders Ebro (aka The Smiley Coder) to the UK Access User Group conference in Oxford in Nov 2024.
The session was so well received that I asked him to do an updated version for Access Europe.
Anders will provide an introductory session on class modules – and then explain how to use them in real world scenarios.
The session will include:
• How do you decide whether to put your code in a bunch of procedures in a standard module, or to create a class module?
• What factors should guide that decision?
• Class modules can raise events, but beyond that, what are the benefits?
• Why use properties, rather than public variables in a standard module?
Anders will give real life examples of when class modules have been used and why he did it that way.
Anders Ebro, is a former MVP from Denmark, known online as The Smiley Coder and he loves Lego! He is a Danish software architect with a passion for application and software development.
Anders is recognised as being one of the world’s leading speakers on Microsoft Access and is well known for explaining difficult concepts clearly.
With a strong background in Access, Excel, VBA and SQL, he has become a prominent figure in the tech community, sharing insights through tutorials, blogs, and conference presentations.

Please also download and import this iCalendar (.ics) file to your calendar application e.g. Outlook.
Doing this will add a recurring event for the first Wed of each month at the correct time for your location/time zone.
The meeting will again be held on Zoom. When the time comes, you can connect using Join Zoom Meeting.
