Hi,
I have a question regarding access 2013 runtime. My understanding is that when you deploy signed/packaged access 2013 it compresses the files with the runtime version of access 2013. Does this cause problems if the user already has an older version of access (say 2010)?

Also, the Access 2013 runtime is compatible with Windows 7 or later. Does that mean I have to have separate installs for each supported version of Windows, each install in a different runtime (there is no option in Sign and Package to pick the target OS so I assume not), but I noticed that Microsoft has different download sites for Windows 7 and Windows 8 for MSA 2013 runtime?

Hmm, couple of things...

a. It's not *automatically* signed unless you purchase a certificate
b. It's not packaged unless you use...

Inno Setup

c. If the User has more than one version of Access installed then once the Runtime is installed and opened all databases will open with the Runtime until the *other* version is opened. They will also experience the *install* when switching between versions.

To answer your other questions...
Access 2013 will not run on any version of Windows lower than Windows 7. There is only one download...

Not sure where you are seeing two versions. And, as stated above, there no packagaing available for Access 2013.

To have your database run on Windows XP you will need to have a different front end and use the Access 2010 Runtime...
