What is the code used to connect an html page to an Access DB?

I don't have access to php or asp.

Anyone have any ideas?

I've tried the Access 2000 wizard, but it blurts out a ton of code for a small form. Hardly anything is comprensible.

DAP, or Data Access Pages would seem to be your only option. Yes, there is a lot of code generated even for simple forms. This is the code that is required to pass information back and forth between your database and the form. DAP is emerging technology, so be prepared to battle with it. You shouldn't need to look at the code; everything you need to do should be availible through the GUI. If you do know HTML and want to tweak it, the code is formatted pretty well so you should be able to see the relevant parts.

Thanks for the reply.

I know HTML and php.
also some mysql.

I was just wondering why so much co0de is needed, when in php all we need is a one liner.

I'll have to do with it as is.
Thanks again!

Its Microsoft! But seriously, in answer to your question, DAP is fairly new technology and designed to be used by people who would run in fear from PHP. Like anything else, it has its Pros and Cons. I am sure that if you could use php, you would. However I suspect you are in an environment where this is not an option and you only have the option of using DAP! The very best of luck in getting DAP to do what you want if you are used to using php! ;-)
