I encrypted a access 2010 database and want to remove the encryption,
I open the database in exclusive mode and enter the old password but there is no option to decrypt database. Please can anyone help me?

the decrypt database does not show in the info window, there is only an encrypt button.

In that case I would have to wonder if was it actually encrypted with a password?

Or did it just have a password added to it?

ETA: I haven't done it myself in the latest version.

I encrypted the database, I know this because previous versions of the database have the decrypt option in the info window.

the newer version only has encrypt and when I type a new password I get an error not a valid password.

If you upgraded your db to an access 2007/10 version (.accdb) it will have removed the previous security and password, as it is no longer supported. You can encrypt in the newer version using the same, or a different password as you had before.
