Dyanmic linking between MSProject and MSAccess - does anyone have any experience of this?
Does anyone know of dynamically linking an Access database with MSProject - much similar to Linked Tables. I would only want to read the MSProject and not Write back to it. So, for example, I could change the cost of an activity, and upon "refresh" I would see the new cost value in my database.
I am looking to aggregate MSProject data information e.g. Total Project Costs and report on them using non-MSProject applications such as Crystal Reports. Or has anyone used Crystal Reports to interrogate MSProject information directly?
The following I can do , but are not dynamic and require intervention :
I can export MSProject details to a format I can then interrogate, e.g Access, Excel.
Or I can write VBA code attached to an MSProject that exports selected data to a format I can interrogate etc
Or I can write VBA code in an Access application that opens up MS Project(s) and reads information and stores in same Access application.
