Firstly that should be csv surely?
Secondly message appearsto be self explanatory. Google the transfertext command.
Here, I will do it for you. :(

Yeah, I posted the wrong code and error msg, sorry. I did have the table name in the docmd. Here is what I was getting:

And it was the csv causing the issue.

fyi - when you pull up the explanation for the error msg 3027 is says nothing about the file name extension issue. Why is a .cvs read only when a .csv is not...?

btw - I did pull up the ref you posted before I came to the forum thank you. The 'Here, I will do it for you.' is a bit condescending, not really in the spirit of helping others?

Well I didn't know that did I? and posting it for you was to save you doing so, and perhaps not even get the same results?

Plus I was working with a self explanatory error message, which now turns out, not even to be the correct one? :)

I was curious about the extension issue, and I tried with a cvs file, and got the same read only message.
No clue as to why TBH, so I have learnt something new. Mind you with my memory, I'll promptly forget it. :(

I am going to ask the experts though. :)

I wonder if windows maintains a list of read-write/read-only file extensions...
