Posted this 9 mounts ago with no answer, and have used up my 1000 tries on google search.

I will enter address of my hotel. When it open the location is dead center. I will then, minus or plus, depending on my my need. The location now is no longer dead center. I now have to drag location back to center to see what is near buy.

No idea Dick, but why not ask in a more appropriate forum, like a Google community forum. They would be the experts surely?
I have always just dragged the map as you do now,
I just scroll with the mouse, rarely use the + and = buttons. The movement does seem different between them?

That doesn't happen in my example apps using Google maps. When the map is zoomed, the centre point is unchanged

see the title, it's about google map itself (not a db with webbrowser).

So Dick could use that?

Precisely! I was providing an alternative solution.
Having said that I don't find the map shifts when I zoom a google map directly in a browser
