Gun laws do they work

That is so true, too many of you have guns and are willing to kill.

Brian

Thank you for the compliment. And willing to BE killed than give up our freedom. If someone is comfortable giving up there freedom then there are lots of countries they can go to. The old, old saying that some people have no trouble living under, is as true today, as in it's original. "Better Red than Dead".

Dick
Shouldn't that be "better dead than red" , not that many Russians would have accepted that, Americans however have been brain washed into believing that theirs is the only good system of government, and then all want to be armed to the teeth to protect themselves from it.

I have to admit, I always heard it as 'better dead than red'.

As to the rest, every nation does its best to 'brainwash' its citizens that its government is best one. I had a very interesting discussion on that very topic a couple months ago with a friend in Germany whose parents were both from Communist Bloc countries - one was East German, one was either Polish or Romanian. Both feel that Capitalism is dangerous to true freedom and leads to nothing but moral decay and rulership of the commons by the elite, and also that Democracy is a facade used to placate the masses while the powerful warmongers behind it attempt to enslave the world. And these are educated professionals who simply crew up under Communism, even though they live today in a Western, Democratic nation.

I think we all know how Dick and Blade feel about the US system, and Colin's a perfect example of someone who is just as 'brainwashed' about everything English, including the parliamentary system.

As a rule, saying "Americans" anything is just as silly as saying something applies to all British, as I'm fairly certain that Scots have a different outlook on things than do English, while the Welsh have yet another outlook. And I do recall some Troubling issues between Irish and English a while back.

In the same vein, there is virtually nothing that is common to every single person called an "American" other than citizenship. I'm fairly certain my political and ideological differences with Bladerunner should have made that plain.

Froth I think that you took my use of Americans a little to generally but that maybe my fault, perhaps i should have said "gun toting Americans"

As for Colin I think that he just likes to stir things up, he thinks all of us northerners stll wear woad.

Both versions of that saying exist, I just thought Dick had it the wrong way round to go with his beliefs.

I probably did. I stopped drinking soda Tuesday, so I have a raging withdrawal headache today and it's making me cranky. Sorry about that.

And yeah, Dick is definitley a 'better dead than red' guy - in fact, he expressed that sentiment in this thread a year or two ago.

As far as as the rapist, would rather make him a HE-SHE---with no ability to ra** again or even think about it. (Nuts and all).

Blade

Yes yes, all very macho and he-man. But.....and I'll ask again.

How do you know the alleged rapist is guilty of ra**?
Girls can be devious swines and lie, especially if the alleged perp refuses to pay, or the cheque bounces.

So, if its not ra** - what does that make you? Up on charges for GBH or grievous wounding with intent?

Obviously if the alleged rapist is black then I guess in American law it doesn't apply.

And flat caps, breed whippets, race pigeons, have outside toilets, live in two-up two-down, speak incomprehensible English. Shall I go on?

Don't deny it, I've seen Last of the Summer Wine.

Guns don't make me more free, but it could come to that. If a government says I can't own a house or a car, or say I can't drive because I am a women then I am less free. If a goverment says I can't own a gun then I am less free. The house and the car come after the gun in all of world history.

Hey Brian,
Glad to hear from you. Yes, from my point of view, ” Better Dead than Red” , but if you will notice my statement says some people, NOT ME, but some people are comfortable with “Better Red than Dead”.
Sure there are many different forms of government. But not “Good”, they are all bad, but for my money a Democratic Republic is the best of the bad. I have never been brain washed in public, school, in college, or in the military, about GB’s Queen. In fact it was never, one time, mention in a good or bad connotation. Just that it existed. It would, however, be hard for me to stomach someone receiving my tax dollar because of their blood line. If someone else is ok with that then I am ok, with it, for them.
Gun position is not the total issue. Yes, I like guns, but even if I didn’t want to own one, I would be oppose to banning them. It’s our law. If enough people in USA want to change the law they have a constitutional right to do so, but they don’t have a right to do it by phone/pen/BHO. I also have a legal, moral obligation to fight it and tyranny. Guns is only the beginning. The fact remains that I have mention often on this thread I see very little evidence (IN THE USA) that it would help the tragic shooting on our streets and school. It’s a cultural problem. Why should we be surprise when a kid goes to school and kills people just because someone offended him. He has never had to deal with authority or respect.

BTW I appreciate the non-accusation tone lately. A superior attitude is very offensive especially to those of us that are.:D Now, come, you know I am kidding.
BTW Once again, I am heading to Beaumount, TX in two days, and will be there for almost three weeks Anybody in AWF wants to get together, I am willing to drive 35 or 40 miles. PM me.

Where did "GB's queen" come into this.

Oh! And BTW. Nobody is talking about banning guns, only controlling them , when are you and Blade going to get that into your heads.

Come on Brian don't bust my Brains. You know very well there are people all over America that want to take all our guns away. If you promise not to tell some of my gun fanatic acquaintances I am in favor of some gun restriction, but I am very careful to scrutinize what some would call a slight restriction. The Big Honcho for one, wants to take everybody's guns away. He doesn't say that, but then he lies about everything. You see if he ever got his way he would just say he has evolved.
That must sound funny to some, me calling anybody a "gun fanatic"

Does the gun make you more free - or is it because you are free you can have a gun?
Hi Anthony: to answer your question I first need to ask a question. Have you ever served in the military where your life could be in danger at a moments notice?

To answer your question, Freedom comes at a price and blood is not cheap. Vigilance is also part of that quest for freedom because if we are not vigilant, those who would take our freedom away will come in the night and steal it. By me carrying a gun, I help keep chaos ( in my circle of life) to a minimum by simply being passive. As one of those pictures stated "Yamamoto" just knowing a possibility of bad things happening is enough for the bad guys to stay away.

If you never did serve your country then you got your freedoms 'without any skin in the game'. (no it is not a game, just a figure of speech). That is the problem today with a lot of our population. It is all me, me, me. If you did, then what changed your mind?

As I stated at one time before, history shows us that hard times are coming. If you don;t believe this, simply look to Fergusen MO. and other places where the law is under attack. Once the law becomes ineffective, what are you going to do?

Blade

hey ole buddy: Of course the rapist would have to have been convicted by his peers. I merely stated that that is what I feel should happen to them. Much like the murders should be hanged on the court house square and left there for about a week. of course that is my opinion.

About the black rapist. Where is he from? Africa? Not a citizen, is a citizen? If he is a citizen, then he is an American and the laws apply regardless of his skin color. If he is not a citizen, then the laws should apply if the crime was committed against an American citizen or on American soil.

Easy on the outside toilets. We still have them in this area of the country. lol
