MAGA

X (Formaly Twitter) is worth less than half of its Former value.
It was never worth what Musk paid for it and by the time the deal closed, Musk knew it but went through with it any way in order to fix it for the rest of us.

And he made it so family friendly with all those OnlyFans accounts.

It just reinforces my position on Musk. Uber Geeks like me were fans long before average conservatives. He should have stuck with being a visionary futurist, instead of a modern day Joseph Goabels wanna-be.

I don't use FB, X, Twitter or any other social media platform except for this one so I have no clue how they work EXCEPT that they all use program code to control what you actually see so even X can make your comments invisible to the world if they choose to muffle your opinions. The platforms all have an agenda and it is malignant. X has gotten much better under Musk's guidance but is far from innocent.

He went through with it because he was losing the lawsuit twitter brought to enforce the sale.
Twitter/X has continued to lose value since.

And I repeat - the owners misrepresented the membership. And, Musk was never buying Twitter because he needed more money. He wanted to fix it. That is why he bought it. He took it a little way but then got involved in politics and got diverted.

How so, and what are you basing your conclusion on?
The comments/complaints of people who use it.

Have to agree with moke here... Read Orwell, where you get a quote "The object of power is power." (It is attributed to George Orwell, though there have been popular variants of the quote as well.)

Another quote that is relevant to current government comes to us from Machiavelli, The Prince: “The first method for estimating the intelligence of a ruler is to look at the men he has around him.”

A Machiavelli quote relevant to the former administration is: “Never attempt to win by force what can be won by deception.”

A Machiavelli quote relevant to what Donald Trump currently faces: “It must be considered that there is nothing more difficult to carry out, nor more doubtful of success, nor more dangerous to handle, than to initiate a new order of things.”

Money is not always the motivation of oligarchs.
Playing the euphemism game, are we? An oligarch might be in the highest wealth class, but Musk did not become wealthy through illegitimate means as did the classic Russian Oligarch's did. It's just a bad equivalency to call Musk an oligarch. He is simply a very wealthy person that realized the American Dream the right way.

But this is simply restoring order. You know, making American Great Again. The government didn't use to have this much power. The power should be heavily balanced on the side of the people. Whatever it takes, it has to be done.

While @moke123 comment is "valid", the concern is that the derogatory innuendo of "oligarch" is being dumped on Musk. However, it seems to be conveniently ignored concerning the likes of George Soros, an oligarch, who is out to destroy Western civilization.

The government used to have power, lots of it. Enough to take down the Robber Barons. The difference was that the Government used to work for the people, not just the ultra rich.

It seems like they have more power now because both the super rich and the their elected minions only want one thing...

To completely strip the Middle Class of all wealth and power.

America was Great because the 90% tax bracket on the ultra rich funded wars and built the best educational, health, and road systems in the world, not to mention space, sciences, navel, you name it the list goes on.

And all of that, with virtually no debt, certainly no global economy ending sized debt.
I'm all for Frick and Frack seeking out, and eliminating, government waste and fraud, the more the merrier,

But, it is not going to have any significant effect on the deficit or the national debt. Only one thing can do that, we must bring back the conditions that created the greatest nation in the history of mankind on this planet.

The sooner we get started, the better.

Not ONLY restoring order, but breaking down years when Obama was in power, or Biden, and that term of office when Trump was in the Oval Office but Congress went the other way and stymied him at every turn. Plus the stuff that had been done while the Chevron Deference policy was still in effect, and that goes back a LONG time. Yes, restoring order. But not "simply."

built the best educational, health, and road systems in the world

But under continued Democratic Congresses and administrations, that bloated and misdirected education system leaves Johnny unable to read. The healthcare system might seem to be the best - but it is also the most expensive and the one most likely to have abuse of the "safety" net due to so many false & fraudulent claims. The road systems are slowly disintegrating under decades of neglect.

Your own argument is evidence that YOU believe in a form of the "trickle-down" theory of economics... If taxes bring in ENOUGH money, some of it will eventually trickle down to where it will do some good DESPITE all the waste, fraud, and abuse that goes on.

There is ample evidence of the results of higher tax rates on the wealthiest. There's viseo from a UT professor going over the time line. I'll try to find it.
You cherry picked my statement, that's something I'm used to from Pat.

A judge just ordered 6 agencies to re-hire the 10's of thousands of fired probationary workers because they were illegally fired.
Department of Agriculture, Department of Defense, Department of Energy, Department of the Interior, Department of Treasury, and Veterans Affairs.

That's a lot of backpay, not to mention the trove of lawsuits that are sure to come. How is that efficient?
This is going to cost a lot more than what doge alleges it saved.
