Mail-merge not working for arabic words

Hello,

I am trying to mail merge in Word 2016. My data is stored in Excel. Few columns contents Arabic texts and others are in English.

When I take a preview, the Arabic contents are replaced with "?????" marks.

How can I get the same Arabic word or whatsoever mentioned in the Excel cell as it?

Can someone please help me ?

I'm no expert in foreign languages and their compatibility with office products, as I've only learned spanish in real life and never typed a single foreign word into a spreadsheet cell, but this will surely lead you down the right path, shouldn't it?:
