Missing User/Posts (1 Viewer)

Not a suggestion more a question.

I posted a reply to a thread on Friday from a user i believe was named msaccessgirl. Subsequently i can't find the thread or the user. I've searched my posts and on key words i knew were in my reply. Nothing. Has this user been banned? Can users delete themselves? Is this a problem with the forum?
It's not that i'm especially concerned about my post but more about the potential loss of knowledge if someone who's contributed alot decides to delete their profile and all the threads go with it. There is the additional question of students asking for help and then deleting their posts incase they get "found out"- something that happened regularly on another forum i used to post on.

I don't quite know how this all works, but a poster can delete a post. If the poster deletes a thread starter, it may delete all replies
