The answer, listen to the lyrics, there are many more references to artists and songs I didn't mention. The opening rift reminds me of CCR's "Looking Out My Back Door".

 
Never heard of the guy. Wikipedia states he was on American Idol which is the type of program I avoid like the plague

Makes me think of a Mumford and Sons / Coldplay mashup.... Good referencing in the lyrics though when he sang "Van Halen turned into Van Hagar" I thought he said '"vinegar" which I guess is still somewhat accurate :ROFLMAO:

Is The Who reference for Roger Daltrey..?

Just ask Don McLean what that song is. And to be honest, I prefer cherry, not apple. It's a texture thing. And all of that controversy erupting about how the Miss America pageants are hell-holes with poor security? I prefer Weird Al's version because he wanted to be a Jedi.
