typing in combo box (1 Viewer)

got a question, and couldn't find the answer

I have a combo box on a form, with some drop down values listed. however, when a preson clicks into the box they can type whatever they want, I don't want the combo box to do that. I don't want it to do anything at all if someone types into it. I want them to HAVE to select the value from the drop down.

Is there any way to do this?

Any help is appreciated.

Hi James

In the properties of the combo-box, set "Limit to List" to Yes.

The user will still be able to type garbage into the combo-box, but Access will display an error message if what the user types is not one of the options in the drop down list.
