Cool. The next step is to invite them into your home and provide them with a free shower and free meal every day - What a wonderfull world![]()
The teachings of Jesus in the gospels are very clear about this, Ken. Although on a strict reading you could skip giving them the shower but there is a clear-cut injunction to feed the hungry. What's the difference between a basic need like health care and a basic need like a meal and hygiene?
Do any of us really want to live in place where people are starving to death in the streets? I doubt it. Thats why I make contributions to charityWhat's the difference between a basic need like health care and a basic need like a meal and hygiene?
Nearly all european countries do have a tax funded welfare system to provide for these basic needs . We call it civilisation.Sorry if you took the metaphor literally. I was implying that if taxes pay for medical care for all then why shouldn't it pay for housing and meals and the like? Aren’t they all basic needs?
