Is there a tool that can analyze Access 2003 databases for potential issues when converted to Access 2010. I have over 200 Access databases I need to convert to Access 2010 and I would like to know if I am going to have issues before I start.

Thanks!!

Access 2010 will run Access 2003 files directly. Why do you feel you need to convert them?

Although it is true that older versions of access will open in Access 2010, we have a couple of reasons to do the conversion. The first is the fact that the entire organization is migrating to Access 2010 so their is no need to keep the files in the older version. The second, and most important, is that we want to take advantage of some of the new features available in Access 2010 (Data Macros is one of the key advantages we want use). However, before we make the final decision, we want to know how much work will be involved in performing the conversion, to include all the time spent fixing issues that occur because of the conversion.

what RG is saying is that A2010 will (should) run mdb's without changing them

you can convert them to accdb format, but you won;t notice any difference, unless you re-engineer them to use new A2010 facilities.

There may be odd things that don't work and you need to investigate.

AS there is no requirement to remove A2003 when istalling A2010, personally I would try and retain the option of having A2003
