We finally converted and have an Access 2003 database we use.

Before, when users when into a form we restricted them to form or datasheet view and now they can go to quick access toolbar and add design view and change the DB and delete records from it... not good... any easy solutions?

Yes.

In A2010 go to the File tab, then Options/Current Database. There are several options you can disable there like;

Enable Layout View
Display Navigation Pane
Allow Full Menus
Allow Shortcut Menus
etc.

Also, Don't allow them to use a accdb/mdb file. Create a accde/mde file (depending on whether or not you've converted to the new format) and give them a copy of that to use.

But with those options disabled AND using a accde/mde, there's no way to get to design view, even from the QAT.

Try doing a Debug/Compile in the original mdb (or accde - not sure which format you're using). You can't create a mde if it is not compiled.

but, now users cannot run file extracts tha call out vba modules that transfer files...I would need these to still work....
