I use WindowsXP and ACCESS2007.

I want to open a .TIF file with ACCESS command:

fname="D:\myfile.TIF"
Application.FollowHyperlink fname


I get an error message:

Run-time error '486'
No program is registered to open this file.

How do I correct this problem? Thanks for your help.

Make sure .tif files have a registered program. Open your Windows Explorer, go to TOOLS > FOLDER OPTIONS > FILE TYPES

and see what, if anything, it is registered to.

I added TIF as a file extension. Now I can open .TIF file from ACCESS.
