I too wonder how a couple hundred grandmas with nerf bats against the entire military power of the United States was considered a "coup attempt" by the left.

By that way of thinking the left was doing Coup's all year long after Floyd died. And much more successfully, too, as entire swaths of cities were taken over by them and police couldn't or wouldn't come through.
Didn't see much prosecutorial outrage over that, saw a lot of pandering and pampering and "I understand their pain" stuff
