Hunter Biden Pardoned!!!!

We should take bets on who Biden will pardon next. P. Diddy?
I'll hazard a guess that Hunter's will be his only major pardon, by major I mean someone nationally known, because surely he'll pardon random people in the name of Equitable Justice or some such drivel.

I like what some have pointed out, about now that Hunter has immunity, he can be perhaps coerced into giving testimony about himself that would otherwise be preempted by his claiming the 5th

I hear the killer of Ashley Babbitt is fishing for a pardon. I thought pardons were reserved for people who have been convicted of a crime.

Haven't watched the podcast yet, but I assume it has to do with Hunter taking the 5th in front of congress. We'll have to see if any non-RINOs want to pursue Hunter, I doubt it.
In short, Hunter can't evade answering a question by taking the 5th. Therefore he has to answer the question. Should Hunter lie, that is a new crime that he can be prosecuted for. The obvious question, if Hunter is subpoenaed by Congress: "Who is the "big" guy?"

The killer of Ashley Babbitt was Michael Byrd. He needs to be charged with murder.

Can he pardon himself for receiving the Burisma money though back-channels illegally peddling influence?
No because that would be an impeachable offence which the feckless pieces of dog doo in the House failed to bring. The President has no authority to forgive impeachable crimes.

Personally I think there will be a flurry of pardons as a preemptive measure.

They need to do the entire Biden crime family. But, I'm not sure they can do Joe. That's an interesting question. The President doesn't get to interfere with an impeachment but if there was no impeachment at the time, even though it was an impeachable crime, can he pardon himself at 11:50 on Jan 20 because if they haven't impeached him by then, impeachment is off the table?

If they can't get to Hunter that shields the big guy. It was never about Hunter, he's just the patsy.

Actually it doesn't. The pardon means that Hunter cannot be prosecuted for any of those crimes but it also removes his ability to take the 5th to avoid incriminating himself. If he is questioned about his business dealings on behalf of the crime family, he has to tell everything because if he lies, he will be prosecuted for lying or if he refuses to tell, he will be prosecuted for that. So, Joe is actually in far more jeopardy with Hunter pardoned.

As many unfair, dishonest, illegal and unethical things have surrounded (think the Clintons) and currently surround prominent Democrats, and as much as it would be somewhat gratifying to see those things litigated in various forms and fashions, I personally hope Trump mostly focuses on the current issues at hand: the Economy, Home/Mortgage prices, Inflation, Education, Spending, and all of the dozens of aspects of what appears to be an impending World War 3. He'll need to work hard to avoid distracting himself with vendettas. Should there be some repurcussions for totally awful things that happened - like people who did nothing more than wander through halls of the capitol on J6 going to prison? Yes, of course, some...but it's a question of degree, and I hope he puts most of his political capital and human resources toward the current issues.

A president who is seen as spending a majority or a 'lot' of his time prosecuting old news will be one the public easily beats in 2028, IMO.

Except he'll say he can't recall, and the mean old Republicans will back down as usual.

I always like Rudy Guliani's favorite phrase: "I wouldn't agree with that characterization, no"
I bookmarked that in my mind and have already used it in my personal life!

The level of petty and brutal stuff going on with Rudy is so wrong. Taking his grandfather's heirloom watches to pay some yahoo who won a gazillion dollars for defamation. What has happened to lawsuits within this country, they are getting ridiculous. So somebody defamed you and your life was miserable for a while. Take 100k and be done with it, now they're literally making him pawn his clothing.

People have spent DECADES in PRISON for crimes they didn't commit and gotten a million or less in some cases. 150 million is absolutely ludicrous, if so please defame me someone!

@Isaac: The Democrats, through both lawfare and the power of the state, have purposely attempted to bankrupt targeted Republicans, like Guliani. Since Harris lost, Democrats are now claiming that they will become victims (sob, sob) of the incoming Republican administration of the very illegitimate actions that they have been taking against Republicans for over four years. Biden White House Is Discussing Preemptive Pardons for Those in Trump’s Crosshairs.
What has some Biden aides particularly concerned is that even the threat of retaliation could prove costly to individuals because they’d be forced to hire high-priced lawyers to defend themselves in any potential investigation.

Especially for those officials without significant means, the specter of six-figure legal bills in the coming years is unnerving. Some Biden appointees, I’m told by people facing scrutiny, are already considering taking the best-paying jobs next year in part to ensure they have the resources to defend themselves against any investigations.
The Democrats had no moral/ethical concerns when it came to purposely bankrupting Guliani as one example. Then there is that absurd $355 judgement against Trump. Consequently, why should anyone care should a Democrat find himself or herself personself in the same predicament. There is the old saying: live by the sword, die by the sword. Democrats always go for the "kill" (no prisoners). Democrats unsheathed the sword. The Republicans deserve to respond in kind (in a lawful manner). For Democrats to now demand preemptive pardons and to request mercy is insulting and morally/ethically repugnant.

The Republicans would not be "retaliating". Republican would hopefully be applying the law to punish those who abused the law. For over four years, Democrats have used lawfare and the power of the state to cripple political enemies. A Stalinist style of abusive government.

These pardons remind me of the Tom Cruise movie "minority report" where people are guilty of pre-crime.

Not quite. These people actually committed crimes. They are now afraid they will be prosecuted for those ACTUAL crimes. This is unlike the persecution of Trump for non-crimes.

I wanna say that movie or somewhere around there was the last time I voluntarily watched a tom cruise movie. although I have watched bits and pieces since then out of politeness to whoever I was with

Trump gets impeached for looking into the Hunter Biden Burisma connection. Joe Biden then grants immunity for Hunter Biden Burisma case proving Trump was correct.
