I now think B Obama is the best choice for America and the world

Oh, did you witness this falsification? What did they use the wrong font, then? (notice I added the word "then" to make it more British sounding).

Did Dubya and Jeb with their cronies all get together in a hide-out up in the foothills and say "hey, let's falsify some documents so when things go wrong, Rich will have somebody to blame"? Or maybe they did it at a family reunion: "no time to swing you on the swing, Johnny, your uncle and I have to plot the eventual demise of the free world. Yeah, we know Congress will be too stupid to get it."

I hope you understand how ridiculous that sounds.
George haven't you heard of the official secrets act, I'm sure America has similar acts that hide the truth from mere mortals:rolleyes:
Oh and there are pages and pages of the the "terrorist" warnings issued to the US, try a search on google

What are "the" warnings? Specifically who warned? What were the specific warnings? Why didn't this come out in the 9/11 report? Are you talking about Clinton's failed policy with regards to Osama Bin Laden? I'm not sure that Clinton's staff fully explained the issues.

How come you're the only one who seems to know this?

The President's Daily Brief for August 6, 2001 contained a two-page section entitled "Bin Ladin Determined to Strike in US," and refered to possible hijacking attempts by Osama bin Laden disciples.

Bush and Condi ignored the threat.

Now tell us how you really feel.

This is all unrealistic propaganda. The brave soldiers who fought for Iraq's independence were not killed by Bush (nor by Congress, who approved and supported the war), they were killed by the enemy. Many of us didn't think it was needless as evidenced by Bush's high approval rating when it all began. It's weak kneed, forgetful, sheep who don't remember that they supported the war who perpetuate this mis-truth.

The financial issues were caused by liberal policies and forcing them on the GSEs and further by refusing to do something about it over 4 years ago when Chairman Greenspan warned Congress. Bush also urged Congress at that time to take action.

Again, a total misunderstanding and misrepresentation of the facts. It's sad that people who never understood what is going on are going to decide this election.

Yeah. 70% of Americans don't understand what is going on...right...and you're an expert.

It was my understanding the Colin Powell resigned because he had been fed a pack of lies by people he trusted (like the President of the United States). He then went to the UN, spread the lies (not knowing they were such) and got the UN to back the invasion of Afganistan.
When Mr. Powell found out that he had lied not only to the UN but to the American people and to the world, he did the only honourable thing an honourable man could do in such a situation. He resigned.

Please remember, Afganistan was supported by UN resolution (incorrectly as it turned out). Pakistan also supported the US action in Afganistan.
Mr. Powell was long gone when the US invaded Iraq. The US invaded Iraq without a UN declaration and with only the UK backing them. The two wars (Afganistan and Iraq) should be discussed separately in this topic as one has an aura of semi-legitimacy and the other does not.

Yes, governments consistently can't tell the people what is really going on (that is why so many president's can't live up to the lies they tell when campaigning).

See, here is a fundamental problem. When I google things, I find things that support my positions (like dK's link above). Makes me think you're purposefully looking for hit job articles.

Yeah. 70% of Americans don't understand what is going on...right...and you're an expert.

That's your figure. But, as Rich alluded to earlier, most citizens don't know what is going on in their government. And reading many posts here, most don't even know how laws are made, even though it is taught in 9th grade.

And yes, obviously I perceive a good deal more than the sheep. These are the people who fight drilling for oil on American soil until there is a crisis (when it's too late) and then suddenly begrudgingly give in (like the leadership of your short-sighted candidate's party). Reactive vs. proactive. It is a sign of immaturity and lack of leadership.

Really? I've never heard that. I'm not disputing you and I'd like to know what is your source?

The odds on an Obama win have shortened even further. Must be some big bets coming in on Obama. I have $100 on McCain and have had the bet for sometime. :)

Sen. Barack Obama - DEM $1.10Sen. John McCain - REP $6.00

Kiss your money goodbye

Re: Kiss your money goodbye

That is hilariously not funny at all. Since in actuality, Joe the plumber would recieve a tax cut under the Obama plan, and in reality McCain wants to take the money out the workers' pockets and give it to large corporations. Talk about "spreading the wealth".

No, it would have been even funnier if Obama had been hitting the blue collar guy over the head with the wrench. "What, you don't agree with me? I'll sick my thugs in the media on you! We'll teach you to have an independent thought."

Spread the wealth, baby.

A kernel of truth is necessary for comedy. That is why Bob's version AND your version aren't funny.

Democrats are all the same

Oh, get a life. Obama and the democrats are all about the same thing - Government programs, spend money and redistribute wealth. It hasn't changed in 100 years. So, there is truth to it, even if you don't want to admit it to yourself.

Let me rewrite your statement more accurately for you:
Candidates and their political parties are all about the same thing - Government programs, spend money and redistribute wealth. It hasn't changed in 100 years. So, there is truth to it, even if you don't want to admit it to yourself.

You're right, neither of our posts had a mere kernel of truth...they both abounded in representing the cold hard facts. And the truth hurts.

Spread the wealth! What's mine is...Barack Hussein Obama's.

I think it is funny in a tragic sort of way that people like you that would actually benefit from Obama's economic policies, and who have suffered because of the economic policies of Bush, support the candidate that wants to continue hurting you and the rest of the American economy.

I don't want to benefit on the back of my harder working comrades. And it is my intent to make over $250K. And I don't recall suffering under Bush any more than I did under Clinton, Carter, or Bush Sr.

Share the wealth. Obama for chief anti blue collar worker thug.

DO you really think that you are personally going to net more than 250k per year? Even though only 2% of the population acheives that? That is a side question.

My point is that Obama has talked about restoring taxes to the same levels they were in the early 90's. Do you also remember not suffereing in the 90's? This is not a "socialist" plan, it is a reasonable common sense plan. With the wildly reckless spending of the Bush administration over the last 8 years, we have some big bills to pay. To say, as McCain does, that no taxes need to be raised, is irresponsible. That is like if you received a credit card statement, and said, well, I don't need to pay that.

Oh, and if you are referring to the CEOs at AIG as your harder working comrades, I have news for you.

It is my hope. Maybe Obama can send his media thugs after me now to find all the skeletons in my closet. Or perhaps they can make fun of me on SNL.

I suffered and benefitted equally during the 90s & 00s.

At least you're being honest. It is definitely Obama's intent to raise our taxes...I'm confident he won't stop on just the $250K people.

Oh, and if you are referring to the CEOs at AIG as your harder working comrades, I have news for you.

I interviewed at AIG for an executive position. From what I could tell, the executives I interviewed with work very hard there. Though that's not what I was talking about. (And I'm not particularly happy with the way they run their IT shop there, either. There is some welfare and outright waste going on there.)

I was talking about you or any other person with enough knowledge, skill, and gumption to go out and make more. You shouldn't have to be penalized because you make more money than me (and vice versa).

BTW, from what I could tell about AIG's IT department and what little I know about you, I believe you had/have a better chance getting in there than I ever did or will.

Spread the wealth! Obama for chief wealth re-distributor.
