I am making an inventory database that will record how much inventory is on hand for our department. I want to record for example how many pens are on hand . How many pads of paper. etc... I have a question about how to link everything together. I want the Inventory table to look up what kind of packaging a product comes in (ie. box, pack) and how many come in the respective box or pack. I have attached the relationship and deisgn views of my tables. Maybe someone could tell me how to better set this up and how to put it all together so that everything is relational and not storing myultiple data.

Please any ideas are welcome! I can give more info if this is too vague.

You are not storing any multiple data, so nothing to worry about on that front.

I don't think you want Cascade Delete enabled on the relationships here, though. If you inadvertently delete Unit, for example, all your Unit products go away.

I might also recommend that you require entries. None of your tblItemInfo fields are required. This allows for essentially empty records to be created.

Other than that, I see nothing wrong with the structure.

What is FullAmt and what is RecorderAmt?

Also, on a foreign key, take off the default value.
