The Slightly Obscure Music Discussion And Quizzy Thread

Would it help if I said it was my favourite band? :)

Is that so? :D

Huh, owned that album at least twice.

I have plenty more obscure than that but like almost all so far, its obvious when you see the answer.

BTW does anyone have any knowledge of the reMarkable tablet?
There were some quite negative comments on Facebook about the fact that they released the ver 2 at very short notice and hadn't offered any recent purchasers (at full retail) any sort of trade-up or discount.

I think it looks really good, but it should be as it's pretty pricy.

Wore out at least 2 vinyl lost the cd and finally own it on apple 🍎

1st Led Zeppelin went down the same way

I had to search what vinyl is.
I hope I'm listening to the correct version of better still Yes - Close to the Edge.

To anyone who is reading this:
While you're waiting for the next quiz, tell me about which type of music you prefer, what you normally listen to, who is your favorite artist.
I'm at work and need to listen to something. A link to several of your favorite songs would be great.

thanks.

You would go crazy with my play list. There are only three types of music I absolutely won't let into the house,

1. Super-heavy acid-metal rock - the band GWAR comes to mind
2. Super-angry gangsta rap - the kind that talks about poppin' caps and baggin' ho's
3. Super-twangey howlin' dawg country laments - the kind that makes YOU want to howl at the full moon.

Anything else, I can handle.

But if you have not heard of them before, see about sampling the work of Pentatonix. They are an incredible a capella group with a HUGE online fan base. They have 3 Grammy awards to their credit in three different genres - electro-pop, country, and seasonal/Chrismas selections. Before you ask, it seems like electro-pop and a capella can't happen together. But...

By the way, this video was shot for a total cost of $400 in the closet of one of the members. And THIS one is a Grammy winner!

Sorry about the delay. Been busy working in the garden all day...
There is a tenuous link to the last example but probably easier if you ignore that

Song title and artist who first recorded it please (though I'll accept any other artists who have done so...)

For info, it was written in the 1970s...not 2008

I think i bought Quadrophenia 4 times:cool:

4 times seems very appropriate for that record. Never bought it myself,

Correct title though not the original which was by Lee Dorsey. Never heard the Pointer Sisters version.
My favourite is the version by John Martyn on the And Live album.
Thought that one would get an almost instant answer...

Anyway you're on...

Super easy as it's Sunday and I'm on my way out for my daily walk!

No other clues yet.

Nope and nope.

Clue in about an hour, let our US colleagues on the west coast get a guess in!
